About Us

The Woodland Ministry of Outdoor Education (MOE as we like to call ourselves) was born out of the desire to ensure every child has an opportunity to learn through outdoor adventures and natural discovery.

We source artisans to produce indoor and outdoor wooden equipment and resources for parents, nurseries, preschools, schools and other educational establishments across the UK and further afield.

We are a passionate close-knit team with over 50 years’ combined experience in delivering sustainably-made educational resources and equipment from our base in rural Essex.

The Treehouse Club

We're also the same team behind the multi-award winning Treehouse Club Nursery and Forest School, the first full-time Forestry Nursery in Essex with multiple locations all over the county.

Why We Started MOE

For all of us, we started our individual outdoor adventures for many different reasons; each of us discovering our own loves as we went.

For some of us that includes working with our hands and creating wooden marvels and for others it is the rewards of working with children in Early Years Forestry Education or just spending time with our loved ones in the great outdoors. Together we make a dynamic, outdoor-loving and fun team.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege to meet and collaborate with some amazing individuals who shared our commitments for educational and environmental improvements.

A Natural Way to Play

Learning is most effective when it's fun. Our learning equipment and teaching aids help to develop life skills, positive mindsets, improved well-being and encourage self-belief in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Behind our products is a dedicated and passionate team. Hand-picked to match our values, with a vision of adventure and the real outdoors at their core.

Ashley is the Managing Director for MOE and throughout her life she has loved the outdoors and grew up hardly being inside.

Her focus has always been adventures from teaching outdoor education to supporting mental health outdoors. In her personal time she loves riding horses, hiking and paddle boarding. She also has the cutest little pooch.

Ruth is the Operations Director for MOE and likes to make sure that everything is running smoothly. With her actuarial background she still loves a spreadsheet!

Ruth plays club level basketball- despite being the wrong side of 40- and spends her spare time with her husband and four children who fill her life with craziness, fun and laughter.

Pete is MOE's Finance Director and spends far too much time stuck behind a computer than he would like!

Approaching 20 years in the accounting profession, when he isn't playing with numbers he likes to cycle around the backroads of Essex, paddle board and hike.
