Product Care, Maintenance and Safe Usage Policy

All equipment created for the Woodland Ministry of Outdoor Education has been created with care and attention to all safety aspects.

All products that contain small parts have a warning when purchasing and are not aimed at very young children. These products are designed for a small group or one to one activity.

All packaging and potential choke hazards must be removed before first use. Please dispose of these safely and recycle all materials where possible.

Where required, all equipment must be assembled and installed by a competent adult before use and assembled products should be checked regularly to ensure that fixings have not become lose through general usage. We recommend using a qualified tradesperson for any construction or fixing requirements.

As children develop at different levels it is at the purchaser’s responsibility to deem the item safe for the age group intended to use the product. We cannot be held responsible for improper use of our products or for products that are used unsupervised by adults.

Our products are only for use within domestic homes or educational establishments. Our products are not designed for unsupervised commercial usage.

Adult supervision is always recommended and may be a necessity when using products.

It is of vital importance that you regularly check your products to ensure that they are safe to be used. Ensure that you check your products for damage, however small, and monitor any damage to ensure that the product is not at risk of splitting or breaking during use. For home use we recommend that you check your product monthly, in educational establishments please ensure that regular checking of your products is part of your risk assessment procedures.

This following guidance and information are essential for the safe use and maintenance of our products:

•    Please remove all packaging before first use and recycle all packaging where possible.
•    Where assembly is required, please ensure that all parts are present before building the product. If any parts are missing, then please contact us within 48 hours so that we can dispatch replacement parts to you. It is vital that you do not use the product until the replacement parts are fitted.
•    Where assembly is required, please ensure that the item is assembled by a competent adult, ideally a qualified tradesperson, before first use and that the product is assembled exactly in accordance with any instructions provided.
•    Ensure that your product is sited on level ground. Our products are designed to be used as shown and unstable footings increasing pressure on the joints and in time could cause damage. Additional surfacing might be required for safety such as rubber matting, however we do not advise on this safety aspect and it is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure that the product’s location is safe for use.
•    Each educational establishment is responsible for completing a risk assessment and deeming the product safe for its intended use.
•    Avoid placing this product in puddles, soaked or submerged ground as warping or cracking may occur. Try to avoid leaving natural products in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time to ensure greater longevity for your products.
•    Regular hygiene practise is advised with regular cleaning for all products.
•    The use of round log is widely used in our products and small cracks may appear over time as is common in wooden products. Any cracks over 5mm in the first year will be replaced once qualifying pictures are supplied to us.
•    Timber products may splinter or lift as the wood moves and all products should be checked on a regular basis. Where necessary affected areas should be rubbed down with sandpaper and re- painted or varnished if necessary.
•    Yearly treatments such as re-painting or varnishing is recommended to prolong the life of the products.
•    All products such as ‘walls’ if not being fitted by the company will be dispatched with six drill point holes and six 100mm screws for use on concrete walls and six 80mm screws for use on secure wooden fences. Please note, these products are made of solid wood and are heavy, care must be taken when choosing where to place the product.
•    We strongly advise against making any personal changes to our products or adding anything except our tailored accessories as shown in our product guidelines.
•    Any personal tailoring will void your guarantee and could make your product unsafe.

If you do not follow the above guidance, your guarantee will be cancelled.
